Course description

This course section introduces information literacy, digital literacy and digitalisation. It examines how literacy and digital competence affect personal, educational and professional life.

The section also considers how digital skills may support participation while limited access, knowledge or confidence may create barriers.

Learning outcomes

After completing the section, students should be able to:

• define information literacy and digital literacy;
• explain the relationship between literacy and digitalisation;
• distinguish between different approaches to digital competence;
