Course description

The course introduces project finance modelling and gives students an opportunity to apply financial concepts to a real or simulated company. Students develop a structured financial model and explain the assumptions, calculations and results.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students should be able to:

  • define the purpose and structure of a financial project;
  • identify the main financial assumptions of a project;
  • organise financial information systematically;
  • prepare basic financial projections;
  • apply time-value-of-money calculations;
  • evaluate expected project costs and returns;
  • develop a financial model; and
  • present and justify the results of the project.

Teaching and learning methods
