Course description
The course teaches students how to use Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software for accounting work. Students learn to store, organise, analyse and report accounting information and prepare financial statements in a structured digital format.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to:
- organise accounting data in spreadsheet software;
- enter and validate financial information;
- use spreadsheet formulas for accounting calculations;
- sort and filter accounting records;
- create summaries and financial tables;
- prepare basic accounting statements;
- present financial information clearly;
- identify and correct spreadsheet errors; and
- complete an applied accounting project using spreadsheet software.
