Professor Mike Thelwall invited Hamed Ahmadinia to the School of Information, Journalism and Communication at the University of Sheffield for a research and staff-mobility visit planned for 21–25 September 2026. At the time of the proposed mobility, Ahmadinia is a Senior Researcher in Economic Sociology in the Department of Social Research at the University of Turku.

The proposed five-day programme focuses on methodological exchange and professional development in computational social science, altmetrics, AI-assisted social-media analysis and digital research methods. Planned discussions include Python-based analysis of YouTube and social-media datasets, misinformation and retracted-science-related content, AI-generated online content, migration-related communication, web scraping, automated text analysis, machine-learning approaches, future joint publications and international research funding.
