This research is part of my PhD study and is funded by the <strong data-start=\"311\" data-end=\"407\">Finnish Cultural Foundation, Karl-Erik Henriksson Foundation, and \u00c5bo Akademis Jubileumsfond<\/strong>. The project aims to provide evidence-based recommendations for <strong data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"537\">healthcare providers, policymakers, and research institutions<\/strong> working with minority populations in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"595\" data-end=\"627\">Specifically, I contribute to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"1198\">\n<li data-start=\"629\" data-end=\"827\"><strong data-start=\"631\" data-end=\"669\">Developing a theoretical framework<\/strong> based on an adapted <strong data-start=\"690\" data-end=\"713\">Health Belief Model<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"750\">Information-Seeking Behaviour<\/strong> to understand the healthcare behaviours and challenges faced by immigrants.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1003\"><strong data-start=\"830\" data-end=\"865\">Conducting a mixed-method study<\/strong>, utilising <strong data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"930\">semi-structured interviews and structured surveys<\/strong> to explore health information needs and barriers to healthcare access.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1198\"><strong data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1041\">Comparing immigrant experiences<\/strong> across three Nordic countries to identify systemic disparities and propose targeted interventions for improving health communication and service delivery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1510\">I design and implement <strong data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1282\">quantitative and qualitative data collection strategies<\/strong>, ensuring methodological rigour in cross-country comparative research. Additionally, I <strong data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1406\">analyse survey and interview data<\/strong> using advanced statistical and qualitative techniques to uncover patterns in health-seeking behaviour.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1980\">Findings from this research have been <strong data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1589\">published in peer-reviewed journals<\/strong> such as <em data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1647\">Library &amp; Information Science Research (Jufo 3)<\/em> and <em data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1682\">Informaatiotutkimus (Jufo 1)<\/em>, contributing to academic discussions on <strong data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1799\">immigrant health, cultural adaptation, and information-seeking behaviour.<\/strong>\u00a0My work supports policymakers and healthcare organisations in developing <strong data-start=\"1874\" data-end=\"1922\">inclusive, data-driven healthcare strategies<\/strong> for diverse immigrant populations in the Nordic region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a Doctoral Researcher at \u00c5bo Akademi University , I investigate immigrants&#8217; health beliefs, healthcare needs, and the use of healthcare services across Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
