Course description<\/h2>\n

This course section introduces information literacy, digital literacy and digitalisation. It examines how literacy and digital competence affect personal, educational and professional life.<\/p>\n

The section also considers how digital skills may support participation while limited access, knowledge or confidence may create barriers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Learning outcomes<\/h2>\n

After completing the section, students should be able to:<\/p>\n

  • explain the relationship between literacy and digitalisation;<\/li>\n
  • distinguish between different approaches to digital competence;<\/li>\n

  • analyse barriers created by unequal digital skills or access; and<\/li>\n
